Grant Junghans' first trip to the Lonestar Speedway will be one he won't ever forget.
Junghans and his No. 2 Shop Quik Racing team made their maiden voyage to the Kilgore, Texas, track this past weekend for the 3rd Annual Armadillo Nationals at Lonestar Speedway. It was three action-packed nights of racing with some of the best dirt modified drivers in the south on hand.
On Thursday, Junghans held off Johnny Scott to win the preliminary feature. That gave him Friday night off and the pole position for Saturday's main event.
Forty-eight hours later, the MB Customs powered by Sput's Racing Engines never missed a beat, and Junghans carried his momentum through to the championship race where he led every lap and pocked the $10,000 top prize.
Up next it's the 17th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., on Sept. 24-26.
