The 5th Annual Grant Junghans Memorial returns to the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, on Friday, October 30, and the high-powered big-money one night stand has gotten even more lucrative.
While the race pays $10,002 to win the USRA Modified main event, the payoff for every feature race starters is now at least $1,152 thanks to some incredible sponsors such as Shop Quik, Ramirez Motorsports, ARMI Contractors, Real Racing Wheels, Midwest Sheet Metal, Rick Beebe Heating & Air Conditioning, 33z Racing/VanderBuilt Race Cars, A&A Electric & Underground, MB Customs Race Cars, RacinDirt.TV, Shell Oil, Lance Town Family, 4 Bar Transport and Big Time Bail Bonds.
Here's the breakdown: 1. $10,002, 2. $5202, 3. $3502, 4. $2602, 5. $2102, 6. $1902, 7. $1802, 8. $1602, 9. $1502, 10. $1402, 11. $1302, 12. $1252, 13. $1222, 14. $1202, 15. $1192, 16. $1182, 17. $1172, 18. $1162, 19-24. $1152, Tow $152.

Grant Junghans was first diagnosed with cancer in February of 2010. Despite on-again off-again chemotherapy treatments and numerous surgeries, he never lost his sense of humor, fighting spirit or natural-born tendency to be decent to others.
The racing world lost one of its finest ambassadors when he passed away in March 2016, and the Grant Junghans Memorial is an opportunity for his family, friends, fans and fellow competitors to remember the good times and racing memories shared in his 27 years with us.
As it has since the beginning, the event will raise money for the Grant Junghans Memorial Fund which supports research and funding for childhood cancer.
He was also the 2009 USMTS Rookie of the Year and that award has since been renamed in his honor.
Jacob Bleess is the defending champion of the Grant Junghans Memorial, which was held at the 81 Speedway last year. Other winners include Jake O'Neil (2018), Rodney Sanders (2017) and Lucas Schott (2016) who captured their wins at the Lakeside Speedway.
