Junghans Earns Start In 'Duel in the Desert' Amidst Record Entries

An event record of 262 IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds from 23 different states and three Canadian provinces battled for only 28 starting positions in the $7,777 to win 'Duel in the Desert' feature event at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on November 14. Grant Junghans made the elite field in the A Main feature all three days, outrunning some of the sports most prominent competition.

Night 1:  In heat race number 5, Grant started on the front row of his heat race, and stayed out front for the victory.  Junghans spun to avoid an incident, leading to an 24th place finish.

Night 2: Grant rocketed towards the front after starting in the rear of his heat race to a second place finish, earning him a starting spot the feature for the second night in a row. In the feature, Junghans finished eighth place.

Saturday Night Finale: Junghans powered his number 2 Shop Quik Racing TRE Modified by RC Whitwell for the victory in the eighth Last Chance Qualifier for a starting spot in the $7,777 to win feature event. Junghans finished 25th overall.
