Grant Junghans made the trek from Manhattan, Kansas to make his first appearances at the Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas and the Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas. Grant raced his way into both feature events, finishing top twelve in each. The final night of the '4th Annual USMTS Texas Shootout' scheduled for 105 Speedway in Cleveland, Texas was canceled due to rain. Friday - Golden Triangle Raceway Park - Beaumont, Texas
Grant's first experience at the Golden Triangle Raceway Park didn't begin as he hoped. During hot laps, a mechanical problem caused Junghans hard into the backstretch wall. Grant and his crew chief, Corey, hustled to repair the machine in time for heat race action, where he ultimately finished 4th. Grant earned the 24th place starting spot with a 6th place finish in the B Main. There, he made a steady charge to the front, advancing 12 positions for a 12th place finish. Saturday - Gator Motorplex - Willis, Texas
Prior to the feature, Grant finished 5th in his heat race and 4th in the B Main. Junghans lined up in the 19th position, and was able to work his way up the field regardless of the rubbered up racing surface. He was officially scored in the 11th place.
